Window Furnishings Australia launches new website

ISSUE 72 May 2020

Window Furnishings Australia magazine has launched a brand new website to allow its content to reach an even bigger audience.

Launched in April, the new website (www.wfaus.com.au) will allow for more industry content and news to be published, whilst regular emails will keep the industry informed with news and features.

Content will also be regularly shared on the invite-only Window Furnishings Australia LinkedIn group, which already has over 500 members.

The site also acts as an archive for the industry, with historic content being uploaded and a modern search engine allowing the easy retrieval of past articles that have appeared in print.

A high quality flip book version of the magazine has been available online for many years, and will continue to be accessible via the new website and social channels.

“The new website is timely considering people’s working conditions at the moment, and has been put together over the last year on the back of requests from suppliers and retailers alike for a better digital product and archive,” James Boston, Publisher of Window Furnishings Australia said.

“Our readers have such a strong attachment to our print version, and we know this because subscription requests have grown over time and people hang onto back issues for long periods.”

“I have been to companies where they have retained every single copy on file since we began!”

“This is great, because it shows a love for the medium, but it does present a challenge for people when they want to find a specific article they have read in the past.”

Boston confirmed the archive currently covers the last 12 months, but the team is working to extend this back several more years for major features and profiles.

“The launch of the site won’t impact on the size or the print run of WFA for now because demand for the printed product is still really high.”

“We see this more as extending our reach in the industry, as well as giving us the ability to deliver industry content and messages to other sectors including construction, architects, designers plus industry groups and government bodies.”

“There has been significant investment on our part, but we believe that our efforts will strengthen the industry further in its communications, and that will benefit us all in the long term.”
