VOICE RECOGNITION APP ENABLES EASY MEASURING

ISSUE 66 MAY 2019

Industry software leader Drape and Blind Software has developed a new easy measure app (EMA) to enhance its base quoting and ordering system.

“EMA’s voice recognition makes it a breeze to enter window measurements and even add comments and photos,” said DBs’ Mira Krulic. “The mobile functionality will speed up the time it takes to record details and eliminate paperwork and errors.”

Sales consultants in the field utilising a regular tape measure or laser measurer can use EMA to record window dimensions and other details against a customer quote. EMA can be installed onto the consultant’s mobile phone or tablet. Customer quotes that are ready to be measured appear on the app for easy reference.

“The consultant can enter the locations by using the phone’s microphone, simply by tapping on the Locations box and saying ‘Bedroom 1’. Similarly, with the window measurements, they measure using a tape, as they do now, tap on the inside width box and say “One thousand three hundred and twenty”. This process is repeated for all window measurements.”

“If more information is needed the consultant can take a photo of the window and store it against the Location for future reference, as well as dictating notes into the Notes box. Of course should they prefer to use the phone’s keyboard they can do so.”

“At the end of the process they click SAVE and the information is immediately saved on their cloud system. The consultant can finish the quote on the sport or leave it for later.”

EMA integrates with DBs on the Cloud and will be launched at the Super Expo in June. The DBs team will be demonstrating EMA at stand L314.
