Viewscape’s new blockout draws on colours of Australia’s coastlines

Issue 90 May 2023

High end wholesale manufacturer Viewscape has announced the launch of its new Strand blockout fabric.

Designed to provide complete privacy and light control to households and commercial spaces, the fabric is a result of extensive research and development, as Andrew Rundle, General Manager of Viewscape, told WFA.

“The Strand fabric range was developed for a noticeable gap in the market for a refined texture with a natural earthy colour palette,” he said. “Our expert design team researched upcoming trends and collaborated with our international design team to create a bespoke, exclusive colour range inspired by iconic, Australian coastlines.”

“The range consists of soft textures and earthy colours, resulting in an effortless addition to any home colour scheme.”

Nine colours have been developed for the Strand blockout fabric range, which is offered in a 300cm width fabric as standard.

“Strand has a custom distinctive soft, understated geometric pattern, which forms the fabric base. Soft tonal colours then transform the fabric into a refined and complete collection,” he said.

From a technical perspective, Strand fabric is treated with an anti-bacterial solution and passes Colour Fastness to Light: 6-7 (test standard: ISO 105:BO2).

“With its certifications under globally recognised standards such as UL Greenguard Gold and Oeko-Tex Standard 100, along with being free from harmful chemicals such as Phthalate and VOCs, and non-toxic heavy metals, Strand fabric is not only environmentally conscious but also a safe choice for consumers.”

“Meeting ISO 9001 and ISO 1401 standards, Strand fabric upholds the highest quality and environmental management practices, making it a truly responsible choice,” Rundle said.

“Strand fabric is suitable for roller, Roman, panel and vertical blinds and is a testament to the commitment towards sustainability and safety in the textile industry.”
