Vale Frank Cairns

Frank joined the Board of the then BMAA (Blind Manufacturers Association of Australia) in November 2018 and resigned in April 2024 due to health issues.  He was a loyal and active member of the association, having joined the BMAA in January 2002.

He also served on many sub-committees over the years, even prior to his time on the Board.  These sub-committees include WincovER, Child Safety, Membership, Training and he held the Technical portfolio which encompasses Licencing and National Construction Code’s fire regulations.

Frank was inducted into the BMAA Hall of Fame in 2016.

His most abiding role in the industry was as owner and Managing Director of Decor Blinds Australia Pty Ltd, celebrating its 40th anniversary this month. Frank was a pioneer and was passionate about the industry, remaining independent and strong in his belief in supporting Australian-made manufacturing.

Our sincere condolences to go to Frank’s family on their loss. He will be sadly missed by his many colleagues. We have wonderful memories of Frank; of his interesting stories and jokes.
