Somfy remains committed to reducing the environmental footprint of its products and services, following the Group’s Sustainable Development Day in June.
Somfy teams from across the world collaborated on ideas and strategies for adapting to climate change within the business and in employees’ personal lives.
“Sustainable development is central to Somfy’s business strategy and with end-users consuming more responsibly, companies need to be committed to a sustainable future,” said Mary Ladu, Marketing Manager for Somfy Oceania.
“Somfy’s top priorities are to reduce CO2 emissions and to have 100% of products sold in 2030 labelled Act For Green.”
Registered trademark Act For Green covers Somfy’s suite of eco-designed products, developed to reduce environmental impact through an approach of eco-responsibility to buildings, products, and teams.
Locally, Somfy Oceania commemorated the day with a teambuilding session on climate change, raising awareness, evaluating current actions, and developing tactics to meet the three pillars of Somfy’s Sustainable Development Strategy: people, planet, and prosperity.
The team was also challenged to implement a new eco-friendly practice in their daily life, with one team member even growing their own loofahs.
“When it’s fully matured and dried out, the inside becomes fibrous, turning into a natural sponge that’s perfect for scrubbing dishes or exfoliating skin,” said Somfy Oceania’s National Retail Manager Jordan Smith.
“From now on, no more nasty plastic sponges!”
