Somfy has made a number of product improvements across its curtain motorisation range, delivering more innovative solutions, simplified installation, and an enhanced user experience.
The Movelite WireFree RTS Curtain Motor now features a USB-C charging connector on the battery pack. “This upgrade extends battery life by 1.5 months, improving the charging experience for customers and streamlining the number of charging cables required for our WireFree range,” said Nicki Beggs, Somfy Oceania’s Product Marketing Executive.
The Movelite 35 range, now featuring the enhanced WireFree motor, offers an accessible motorised curtain solution with all the essential functionalities customers expect, plus the added convenience of Somfy’s reliable, connected control via the TaHoma by Somfy app. The motors are also compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for voice control.
“There is an accessible solution to suit all curtain projects and budgets,” added Beggs. “All motors are compatible with Glydea Ultra tracks and accessories for easy fabrication and can be used for all curtains, including pinch pleat and ripple fold.”
Coming mid-year, Somfy will launch the Glydea Ultra 50 WireFree Zigbee Motor, combining modern aesthetics, seamless smart integration, and flexible mounting options.
Featuring a contemporary design, the new motor is elegantly finished with a fabric look to easily blend into home décor.
“The motor’s stylish design is just one exciting element of the new release. The motor will be supported by an array of compatible accessories for versatile mounting.”
The new motor is also installer-friendly. It will support both classic and ripple fold applications, with four mounting positions (0°, 90°, 180°, -90°) and an adjustable hook for precise curtain alignment during final fit-out.
“This motor has a lifting capacity of up to 50kg and can be installed on tracks up to a maximum of 12 metres” said Beggs.

The Act for Green-certified motor includes a permanent QR code for streamlined commissioning via the TaHoma Pro app.
“The USB-C battery pack has been thoughtfully designed for compatibility with Somfy’s Smart Shading charging accessories and can be conveniently charged in place using the magnetic connector, reaching a full charge in under four hours.”
