Somfy is excited to launch several new products across its curtain motorisation range, delivering more innovative solutions, simplified installation, and an enhanced user experience.
The latest addition to Somfy’s Zigbee range is the Glydea Ultra 50 WireFree Zigbee motor, combining modern aesthetics, seamless smart integration, and flexible mounting options.
Featuring a contemporary design, the new motor is elegantly finished with fabric to easily blend into home décor.
“The motor’s stylish design is just one exciting element of the new release,” said Nicki Beggs, Somfy Oceania’s Product Marketing Executive.
“The motor is supported by an array of compatible accessories for versatile mounting.”
The new motor is also installer friendly, supporting both classic and ripple-fold applications, with four mounting positions (0°, 90°, 180°, -90°) and an adjustable hook for precise curtain alignment during final fit-out.
The motor also boasts a powerful lifting capacity of up to 50kg and can be installed on tracks up to a maximum of 12 metres.
“Our new Glydea Ultra 50 WireFree Zigbee motor adds to Somfy’s complete, comfort-driven Smart Shading solution. With bi-directional feedback and the convenience of a battery motor, users can enjoy real-time updates on curtain position, motor status and battery level when part of a TaHoma switch installation,” added Beggs.
“Excitingly, the Glydea Ultra 50 WireFree Zigbee motor is also compatible with Apple HomeKit, and includes a permanent QR code for streamlined commissioning via the TaHoma Pro app.”
The motor’s USB-C battery pack has been designed for compatibility with Somfy’s Smart Shading charging accessories and can be conveniently charged in place using the magnetic connector, reaching a full charge in under four hours.
Complementing the Movelite 35 AC, Somfy has also launched the Movelite 60 AC curtain motor range, available in RTS and WT(with the option to convert to a DCT motor).
The Movelite series forms part of Somfy’s two-tier curtain motor offer, giving curtain partners and end users motorisation options for residential or commercial projects.

Combining French style with state-of-the-art engineering, the range is quiet, discreet, and easy to sell and install – making life easier for you and your clients.

With a strong lifting capacity of up to 60kg, all motors are also available with an in-line connector for ease of pre-wiring.
The motors are compatible with Glydea Ultra track and accessories and suitable for all types of curtains including pinch pleat and ripple fold.
Additionally, the Movelite60 RTS is compatible with the TaHoma switch for app control and smart speakers (Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa) for voice control.
