The Stuttgart trade show brand enters the ASEAN market for the first time, with a November 2026 launch aimed at the region’s expanding construction pipeline.
The R+T exhibition brand, one of the world’s leading trade platforms for window and solar shading, doors, and related building technologies, is entering South East Asia with a standalone show for the first time. R+T South East Asia will run November 11-13, 2026 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), organised jointly by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH and Thai exhibition company Worldex G.E.C.
The debut is timed to coincide with what organisers describe as a significant infrastructure investment cycle across the ASEAN region. The South East Asian construction market is forecast to attract USD 500 billion in infrastructure investment by 2030, with Thailand ranking as the second-largest construction market in the bloc.
For the Australian window furnishings sector, the timing matters. Several Australian manufacturers and distributors have been expanding into South East Asian markets over the past decade, particularly for commercial and hospitality projects in Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. A regional trade event anchored in Bangkok provides a direct point of contact with the developer, architect, and specifier community that drives high-volume specification decisions in those markets.
R+T South East Asia will sit alongside two co-located events: FutureBuild Asia, covering broader building technologies, and DOMOTEX South East Asia, the flooring and interior surfaces show. The combined platform positions Bangkok as a multi-trade destination rather than a single-category show, which should appeal to suppliers whose product ranges span solar shading, internal blinds, flooring, and smart building integration.
Product categories at R+T South East Asia include sun shading systems, doors and gates, technical textiles, flooring, interiors, and smart building innovations. The target visitor profile covers property developers, building owners, architects, home builders, specialist retailers, and specifiers across the ASEAN region.
The show is backed by a financial incentive for Thai-based exhibitors: small and medium enterprises registered with Thailand’s Office of SME Promotion (OSMEP) can access up to 80% reimbursement of exhibition participation costs. That support structure is likely to drive strong local exhibitor numbers in the first edition, and may shape the mix of brands Australian visitors encounter on the floor.
For Australian companies considering a presence, the international exhibitor contact is Manuela Keller at Landesmesse Stuttgart (+49 711 18560-2605). Thai-side enquiries go to Thongprakai Watcharopart (+66 91 721 2561) or Hans Stoter (+66 92 532 3256).
The Stuttgart R+T brand is well-established in Europe, with R+T Stuttgart one of the global benchmarks for the window furnishings and solar shading sectors. Whether the Bangkok edition can establish comparable authority in a more fragmented regional market will depend on the calibre of exhibitors secured for the first edition and the reach of Worldex’s local networks across the ASEAN buyer community.
Registrations for R+T South East Asia open ahead of the November 2026 show. Full details and exhibitor applications are available at messe-stuttgart.de/r-t.
