Ricky Richards has made a significant leap forward with the opening of new warehouses in Brisbane and Melbourne. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing service levels for clients in Queensland and Victoria, reinforcing the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Ricky Richards Marketing & Brand Manager Tom Arciuli elaborated on the strategic motivations behind this expansion.
“Firstly, it’s to improve the service levels for our clients based in Queensland and Victoria. Ricky has always been a service-first business that customers can rely on. These local warehouses mean we are investing in stock, speed to market, and supporting the needs of our clients in these areas, which allows greater flexibility in servicing and stocking of product,” Arciuli said.
The new warehouses are not just about immediate service improvements but are a crucial part of Ricky Richards’ long-term market expansion plans. “The objective of these warehouses is to support our customers and partners where we both grow. Ricky has been servicing the industry for 40 years, and we have a responsibility to grow our market share. Warehousing in multiple states and holding the right stock in the right areas for our customers is a key pillar of this.”.
He said customers could expect tangible benefits from these new facilities, particularly in terms of delivery speed and service quality. “Our speed to market will improve rapidly. Next-day deliveries in metro areas are the expectation. These warehouses will be stocked with the right product across all our divisions to ensure faster delivery speeds and increased service levels from local representation and focus.”
The investment in these new warehouses is substantial, covering financial, technological, and human resources. “Ron Gottlieb and the business have made substantial investments into these facilities. Brand new builds in Brisbane and Melbourne to service our market and ensure we have the right people in these locations to support our growth and customer base.”
In terms of operational efficiency and capacity, the new warehouses represent a significant upgrade. “These new warehouses give us more capacity and square metres to hold stock, and stock in the right locations. The Homebush Sydney home of Ricky’s for 40 years isn’t set up in a modern way, so the space utilisation isn’t optimised. In our new locations, the racking and layout are optimal, allowing us to hold more stock, more of the right stock for our customers in the right locations at the right times.”
Technological advancements have also been a priority in these new facilities. “We’ve implemented new warehouse management systems to ensure best practice when it comes to warehouse and operations. This will enhance our customer service levels and enable better stock control and optimise warehouse space across our branch network.”
Looking to the future, these warehouse openings are pivotal to Ricky Richards’ growth strategy. “These are key pillars of our long-term strategy,” said Arciuli. “Ricky has always had a strong presence across the eastern seaboard, and this only strengthens our position as a key industry partner. We have our own representation in these areas, which means more contact with our customers and the ability to deliver the ultimate levels of service. Ricky is continually evolving with good people whilst never losing the Ricky way, great service, great stock, and being the best and most reliable partner in the industry.”
The Ricky Richards Geebung Brisbane Open Day is scheduled for Friday 23 August.
