Phantom Screens offers world-leading motorised blind

Issue 99 November 2024

Phantom Screens in South Australia is marketing its Executive Motorised Blind as the largest motorised blind available globally, capable of spanning widths as large as 12m wide.

Anthony Gomez, Sales Development Manager at Phantom Screens, says that such large widths are possible thanks to unique engineering and design that eliminates the “smiley face” that is so prevalent with other brands trying to push their limits.

“The Executive range has various head box sizes as well as cable guided options to accommodate a wide range of fitting options.”

“We have the ability to mount the system and its tracks in a totally recessed application. We also boast the ability to split the product in two to have easier access to apartment structures without the need for expensive crane lifts.”

The Phantom Screens manufacturing process includes its own in-house powder coating facility where all the aluminium material is pretreated with a corrosion inhibitor.

“This also means we can offer a comprehensive range of colours from the Dulux and Interpon range,” Gomez says.

“Although we can access most of the popular brands of fabrics, we do prefer the stability of fibreglass base fabrics.”

“Unique to Phantom screens is the use of insect protection meshes which are very popular in some regions of the country.”

“We also stock three popular motor brands with options to suit most applications. Subject to the motor selected, we also favour obstacle detection technology.”

“Given the oversized capability of the Executive blind, it performs extraordinarily well in most weather conditions but just like every other blind on the market it is recommended not to be used in extremely windy conditions.”

Gomez says the most common reason for an outdoor blind is to create a functional all-weather space giving users another room where they can entertain all year round.

“However, for those that wish insect protection with maximum ventilation, we have that covered too.”

“By far, the residential market is the biggest consumer of the Executive blind but commercial sales are on the increase particularly as the market becomes familiar with our oversized capability and our ability to split the system to install them in apartment buildings where crane lifts are unviable or cost prohibitive.”

Gomez says installation typically requires two people for an install on blinds up to eight metres, but for blinds up to 12 metres, three people are recommended.

“Phantom Screens’ products are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. This means two years on labour, manufacturer’s warranty on fabrics, motors and remotes – and a lifetime warranty on extrusions and componentry,” he adds.
