Next SuperExpo to take place in 2026 on the Gold Coast

Issue 93 November 2023

The Blind Manufacturers’ Association of Australia (BMAA) and the Specialised Textiles Association (STA) have confirmed that the next edition of SuperExpo will take place in 2026 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC), Broadbeach, Queensland.

At the conclusion of SuperExpo 2023, BMAA sponsors and exhibitors were asked to complete a survey to indicate whether the next SuperExpo should be held in 2025 to get it back on track in the year following the R+T Stuttgart show, or to hold the show in three years’ time in 2026.

The overwhelming view was that the next SuperExpo should be held in 2026 and that the venue should again be the GCCEC. WFA understands that the SuperExpo Committee is reviewing the dates available at the GCCEC in mid-2026 and members will be advised when a decision has been made.

The BMAA and industry have been debating whether the next SuperExpo, which has traditionally been triennial, should be brought forward to take place in 2025 following scheduling changes caused by Covid19.

The 2023 edition was initially scheduled to be held from 8 – 10 June 2022, the year after R+T Stuttgart, however R+T organisers then advised that their show, scheduled for February 2021, would be postponed to 2022 due to Covid19, meaning that both R+T Stuttgart and the SuperExpo would have taken place in the same year.

The decision that SuperExpo would be held in from 7 to 9 June 2023 followed detailed industry feedback from a survey in which several of the SuperExpo’s major exhibitors indicated they would wind back their involvement or not exhibit if the expo took place in 2022.
