New-generation acrylic and poly awning fabrics from Weinor

Issue 105 November 2025

Weinor is highlighting the specific benefits of key releases in its Awning textiles offering.

The most recent additions to Weinor’s My Collections 2 fabric range, Lumera All Weather and Firemaster, represent the next evolution in high-performance acrylic and poly awning textiles, according to Simon Meyer, Weinor Managing Director.

“Designed for demanding outdoor and commercial environments, these new fabrics deliver advanced protection, safety, and longevity while maintaining the refined finish synonymous with Weinor’s European quality.

“Lumera All Weather pushes outdoor fabric performance further with enhanced rain protection and a PVC-free construction. Its 1000 mm water column rating triples that of standard acrylics, providing dependable coverage for pergola and all-weather Awnings. Like Firemaster, it is light-resistant, colour-stable, and simple to clean, ensuring long-term value and consistent presentation.

“Firemaster is a woven acrylic fabric that combines flame retardancy with full waterproof capability. Meeting B1 fire protection standards (DIN 4102) and featuring a water column of 1000 mm, it offers exceptional performance in applications where safety and reliability are paramount, such as cafés, restaurants, and commercial facades. The fabric is lightfast, resistant to dirt and water, and maintains its appearance with minimal upkeep.

“Until now, the Australian market has lacked fabrics that combine high fire safety and full waterproofing without sacrificing design appeal. Firemaster fills this gap by delivering dual protection in one specification, while Lumera All Weather meets growing demand for robust, PVC-free options that perform in sustained wet conditions.

Meyer also notes that Weinor’s Modern Basics Blue collection deserves recognition as an ongoing leader in sustainable Poly Awning fabrics.

“While not a new release, it remains a benchmark for eco-conscious design in the exterior textile sector. Each fabric is crafted from 85% recycled PET bottles, achieving around 60% energy savings, 45% lower CO2 emissions, and up to 90% water reduction compared to conventional processes.

“Unlike the technical specialisation of Firemaster and Lumera All Weather, Modern Basics Blue focuses on material sustainability and visual refinement. Its UPF 50+ UV protection, Teflon dirt-repellent coating, and long-term colour stability ensure the collection performs as beautifully as it looks. With 26 patterns ranging from modern neutrals to sophisticated linen weaves and nature-inspired tones, it caters to both residential and commercial spaces seeking sustainable luxury outdoors.

“Together, these collections reinforce Weinor’s reputation – supported in Australia by Blinds by Peter Meyer – as the market leader in high-performance, design-led exterior fabrics that meet the growing need for safety, sustainability, and style.”
