New curtain + blind fabrics from Wilson

ISSUE 71 March 2020

Wilson Fabrics is set to launch a range of drapery and blind fabrics while also revamping its core range with new palettes in line with current and forward trends.

“Coming off a three and a half year hiatus, we’re excited to be launching a range of fabrics that have been missing from the market in general,” said Wilson Fabrics CEO Chris Sencek. “Comprising a ‘good, better, best story’, these are modern, elegant and stylish fabrics; they come in both blockout and translucent, and have been carefully crafted to cover the most essential interior colour shades and textures.”

“Our DNA remains unchanged. Our fabrics are proudly manufactured in our Wangaratta mill in North East Victoria. Our mill has undertaken a major overhaul over the last 12 months and we are very confident that we can produce a robust product that will not only have the right look, it will also make selling roller blinds easier by offering a solution to customer needs.”

Sencek believes that while a large chunk of the market “races to the bottom, offering lower price and therefore lower quality products to customers and more importantly low profits,” Wilson has made the conscious decision to stick to its core values of offering high quality Australian made fabrics at an affordable price, with a “one stop good, better, best strategy.”

“Our high quality, wide width jacquards that are blockout or translucent with co-ordinating drapery and on trend for today and beyond, are quite unique,” he said. “Feedback received from key players in the market during our market research and product development phases has been extremely positive in Australia. Our entire team is very excited about these new ranges and cannot wait to reveal them to our business partners.”

In an uncertain market characterised by low consumer confidence, “as an industry we need to work harder on increasing our bottom line and not trade on price only,” he added. “I believe the companies who can offer a point of difference to their competitors will do very well. Wilson will focus on the manufacturers who play a pivotal role in the industry and give them the required support to have a unique offering.”

“Businesses and individuals in general need to feel more and more confident about the product they purchase. They need to know its source and require peace of mind on all purchases. Wilson Fabrics’ new offer will give them that confidence, and at the same time create beautiful window coverings.”
