Flying Pig boosts manufacturing footprint

ISSUE 71 March 2020

Sampling specialist Flying Pig Projects, along with Flying Pig Graphics, has relocated and expanded in response to growing industry demand.

The company has now moved into bigger, state-of-the-art premises, tripling its manufacturing footprint, confirms Managing Director, Robert Paton.

“The decision was primarily driven by our customers’ needs,” he says. “Our service and support are key to the growth of our relationships over the years. Price is a factor, but more than that, what we offer our clients is honest support. With over 20 years’ experience in sample making, print, graphic design and marketing services, our point of difference lies in hands-on experience. Rather than simply managing other people or divisions, we have a track record in the actual ‘doing’ part of ‘rolling up your sleeves and getting on with the job’.”

“Flying Pig Projects and Flying Pig Graphics have grown through support and service to the window furnishings industry, and in return, clients’ belief in the Flying Pig offer. Whether it’s jobs that are big, small or everything in between, we are committed to supporting the requirements of the Australian market on their terms, providing what they need, when they need it.”

Paton adds that the recent bushfires have taken a toll on Flying Pig in Lithgow NSW, both on staff members and facilities. “Flying Pig was halfway through its relocation when the Christmas period was upon us.  This was all planned of course, but the unexpected bushfires caused some physical damage to the new premises. That aspect of the fires was fixable, but the emotional toll on staff was also a factor. Seeing the burnt landscape at or near their homes, to then see similar landscapes at work, was tough going.”

The company has emerged through challenging times with a sense of optimism, however. With a bigger floorspace, additional machinery, greater staffing numbers, increased storage and warehousing, Flying Pig has “expanded for all the right reasons,”Paton says,  to respond to the industry and to meet its growing demands. “We are housed under one roof now, and the consolidation of our premises has given rise to faster and more responsive lead times, with customers already seeing the results. We encourage anyone with a sampling project to make contact. We’ll ensure the project is completed on time and to unparalleled quality standards.”
