Nineteen suppliers and four hands-on technical sessions gave Dalekit’s customers direct product access and practical installation and maintenance knowledge at the annual 12 August Open Day.
Dalekit held its annual Open Day on 12 August, hosting 19 suppliers and four live technical demonstrations at its warehouse. Customers attended from across the industry for a day built around two elements: a supplier expo giving direct access to the brands behind the products, and a practical demonstration program covering zip screen installation, skin cleaning and folding arm installation.
Suppliers on the floor
Nineteen suppliers set up tables across the warehouse, giving customers the opportunity to put questions directly to the brands they work with every day. Attending suppliers were Acmeda, Alpha, Basford Brands, Buz, Challenger, Coulisse, Defab, Goodearl & Bailey, HVG, Hunter Douglas, Louvolite, Ozroll, Pacific Wholesale, Ricky Richards, Shann, Shaw, Somfy, Texstyle and Uniline.
Attendees could handle new samples, ask technical questions and get a feel for upcoming ranges directly from the people behind the products. Foot traffic at the tables remained steady across the day. A number of suppliers also used their tables to unveil new releases, giving Dalekit’s customers an early look at products before they reach the wider market.
Technical demonstrations
Four sessions ran across the day, each addressing technical aspects of installation and maintenance that do not always receive dedicated instruction.
Two sessions focused on zip screen systems. The first walked attendees through installing an extended charging cable for cable runs longer than standard, a task that can trip up even experienced installers. The second covered correctly tensioning the spring on a zip screen system, a step that is easy to get wrong and hard to diagnose after the fact.
Goodearl & Bailey ran a session on the correct way to clean skins, offering practical maintenance advice that attendees could pass directly on to their own customers. The fourth session was a folding arm install demonstration covering the correct installation process from start to finish. All four sessions were structured around practical knowledge rather than product overview.
Pajeska on the day
“This year’s Open Day was one of our most successful yet,” said Joe Pajeska, Managing Director of Dalekit. “Having nineteen suppliers in the room and such a strong attendance really showed us how much value our customers place on the event. The feedback on the demonstrations in particular was fantastic, people walked away with real, practical knowledge they can use on the job straight away. Days like this are exactly why we do this every year; it’s about giving our customers direct access to the suppliers and the skills that help their businesses grow.”
