CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE: BMAA SUPEREXPO GALA DINNER HONOURS HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES AND LIFE MEMBERS

The BMAA SuperExpo Gala Dinner proved to be a night of celebration and recognition as the industry came together to honour exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Hall of Fame inductees and the awarding of Life Memberships to esteemed industry veterans.

Established in 1999, the BMAA Hall of Fame aims to celebrate excellence and acknowledge the remarkable achievements of individuals who have made a lasting impact on the industry. The 2023 inductees were announced during the dinner, garnering well-deserved applause and admiration from attendees. The three distinguished individuals honoured with induction into the Hall of Fame were:

– Tony Politis: Recently retired Managing Director of Hunter Douglas Australia and New Zealand, Tony Politis has left an indelible mark on the industry through his leadership and contributions to the success of Hunter Douglas.

– Dr. Ibrahim Elassaad: Founder of CW Products, Dr. Elassaad’s innovative mindset and dedication have played a pivotal role in shaping the industry, particularly in the realm of window coverings.

– Bruce Turner: As the Founder and Managing Director of Wynstan, Bruce Turner has been instrumental in establishing a renowned brand known for its quality and craftsmanship.

The announcement of the Hall of Fame inductees was met with resounding applause, recognising the immense impact and achievements of these remarkable individuals.

In addition to the Hall of Fame inductions, the Gala Dinner also marked the awarding of Life Memberships to two highly esteemed figures in the industry – Joe Turner and Ross Emms. Joe and Ross have exhibited unwavering passion, commitment, and dedication to the BMAA and the industry as a whole.

Having held positions such as Director, President, and Vice President of both the BMAA and its predecessor associations, the Venetian Blind Manufacturers’ Association and the Blindmakers’ Association of Australia, Joe Turner and Ross Emms have been influential leaders and catalysts for positive change. Their tireless efforts have helped shape the industry and drive it towards greater heights.

Recognising their significant contributions and commitment, the BMAA recently introduced the Life Member category to honour individuals who have made a lasting impact on the industry. During the Gala Dinner, BMAA President Gilbert Da Silva expressed sincere gratitude and congratulations to Joe Turner and Ross Emms, bestowing Life Memberships upon them.

Gilbert Da Silva presented Joe and Ross with Life Member trophies, symbolising their esteemed status within the BMAA and the industry as a whole. Additionally, the BMAA expressed their appreciation by presenting them with a small gift, recognising their invaluable services and dedication over many decades.
