BMAA COLUMN, Super Expo 2023

Issue 88 January 2023

SuperExpo2023, the largest trade exhibition for the window furnishings and specialised textiles industries, will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 7th – 9th June 2023.

The show was launched in August 2022.  Stage 1, being the four main halls at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, sold out in 48 hours. This result was overwhelming and the SuperExpo2023 Committee made the decision to book additional space for the 2023 show. This extra room which forms part of Stage 2, has given us an additional 34 3×3 metre stands and an extra 16 3×2 metre stands, making this the largest floor area of any SuperExpo. In total, there will be 102 companies exhibiting at the show. In addition, SuperExpo2023 has 19 sponsors and we sincerely thank those companies for supporting the event.

From January 2023, work will commence on the promotion of SuperExpo via digital marketing and other avenues. The SuperExpo2023 website has been set up and can be accessed at www.superexpo2023.com.au. In the New Year, on-line registrations will open as well as for bookings to the various functions and events that will be held during SuperExpo week.

With face-to-face business being the most important benefit to any trade event, we are looking forward to SuperExpo2023 being the biggest and best-ever trade show for our industry, especially in this post-COVID-19 era. We look forward to seeing everyone at SuperExpo2023.

Training Summit, Annual General Meeting and General Meeting:

The Blind Manufacturers’ Association of Australia (BMAA) in conjunction with our training partners, The Frontline Group, held the industry’s second Window Furnishing Training Summit in Melbourne in November 2022. The purpose of the training summit was to shape the direction and training priorities of the industry over the next five years.

Over 60 industry personnel attended the summit. There was excellent member participation and engagement during the workshop and the valuable comment and feedback was documented. Following on from the summit, the National Training Plan 2023-2027 will be formulated.

The BMAA Annual General Meeting and General Members’ Meeting was held at the conclusion of the Training Summit. The meeting provided members with a comprehensive update on all the BMAA’s projects, particularly WincovER, our star-rating program that compares the energy performance of window coverings and outdoor shades.

The BMAA can only keep protecting and promoting our industry if it is supported by the industry. Any companies wishing to join our association can phone our office on (07) 3801 8811 or join via the BMAA website:
