BLINDWARE'S ROLLER SYSTEMS UPDATE ALIGNS WITH MARKET DEMAND

ISSUE 69 NOVEMBER 2019

Blindware has completed a number of new developments in roller systems and componentry that support a user friendly fabric wrapping system.

The latest developments from the SunBoss system include multiple new extruded aluminium profiles that feature fabric wrapping. Blindware also recently released four new extruded products that work with the standard range of SunBoss clutches and components:

  • 70mm 1-piece cassette
  • 100mm single fascia
  • New 2-piece Double fascia
  • Rail system with removable fascia

“The common theme with all these products is that they include an easily used fabric wrapping system. This provides great looks and functional design,” says Blindware Managing Director Grant Norton. “The fabric wrapping system uses a 10mm flat spline to retain the fabric on one side and a roll-in hollow bead on the other. The system can handle fabrics of almost any thickness and is quick and easy to use. The demand for fabric wrapping has come from many customers and we have listened to their requests and developed this feature across all new profiles.” Norton told WFA the new 70mm cassette was designed as “a great looking product, able to be used for roller blinds and zebra blinds.” Blinds can be chain operated, motorised, use Blindware’s patented ZeroGravity chainless lift system or simply spring loaded. “One big advantage of the 70mm cassette and the rail system is they use our standard end and centre brackets, which saves inventory and saves complexity. The 100mm fascia works just like the well proven 75mm fascia system, just bigger for larger size blinds, including for 63mm tube systems with long drops. All these new profiles should be arriving into stock and available by the time this issue of WFA is mailed out.”

“These four new profiles increase the flexibility of the SunBoss system significantly,” he says. “Aside from offering functional benefits, these profiles are very affordable as a result of recent changes in Blindware’s sourcing for aluminium profiles like fascia and cassette. These products were previously sourced locally, which made them quite expensive to produce. Blindware has now shifted core production of all powder coated and anodised cassette and fascia profiles offshore and has passed the savings back to customers. In its recently updated price list, Blindware has significantly reduced the price of aluminium cassette and fascia profiles.” “Our role is to help our customers to compete successfully in a very competitive market place. Products such as the new cassette and fascia profiles, plus the new double fascia and rail system, clearly differentiate our offering from cheap imported blinds, including imported made-to-measure and box products. We need to give consumers a reason to buy Australian and developments such as these help support locally fabricated products.”
