Betta Blinds nears completion of 2,400m² Sunshine Coast expansion

Growth across its distributor network has pushed Betta Blinds & Awnings to expand its Sunshine Coast manufacturing space to 2,400m², with a purpose-built freight bay and a reworked production flow central to the new design.

Betta Blinds & Awnings is nearing completion of a Sunshine Coast facility expansion that will take its manufacturing footprint from 1,400m² to 2,400m², driven by growth across its distributor network.

The company has manufactured window furnishings on the Sunshine Coast for more than two decades. As its distributor network expanded, the need for additional capacity grew alongside it. Betta Blinds says the expansion gave it the opportunity to address inefficiencies that had developed in its existing space, and to plan the new layout with purpose rather than simply build bigger.

Betta Blinds mapped every zone to optimise the flow for its core products. The result, the company says, is a facility where materials move from the first cut through to final dispatch with less time lost and a smoother path from order to delivery for distributors.

Freight logistics were central to the design process. A purpose-built freight bay now supports Betta Blinds Freight directly, providing the logistics team with dedicated space to pack, handle and dispatch orders, and helping ensure products arrive safely and on time.

The expanded facility features white interior walls throughout and a new showroom built around a minimalist design, giving distributors a clear view of the product range.

Betta Blinds says it has documented the build from the ground up, capturing milestones and challenges throughout the process, and plans to open the finished space to distributors once complete. The company’s stated commitment is to “simply stunning products and service as it should be.”
