Acquisition sets industry stalwart on growth path

The Curtain Hardware Company and Trax West have been sold to Curtain Hardware Australia, part of Venture Growth Partners (VGP), a growth investment firm.

Collectively the VGP team have advised, owned and operated hundreds of small businesses ranging from start-ups to ASX listed companies.

Lance Hind of The Curtain Hardware Company told WFA the purchased companies commenced discussions with VGP at the start of the year and, he says; “It became evident that they have the energy, skills and experience to take the business to the next level, whilst maintaining and protecting the existing legacy of the business.”

“What does this mean for our customers?”

On a day-to-day, it’s business as usual for the time being, only now we have new resources and capabilities to continue driving value for our customers.

Key details of the transition include that Lance Hind and Stuart and Tara Thomas will continue to work in the business for the next six months and will retain a residual interest in the business.

Steve Saboune will take over Lance Hind’s role as Managing Director. “Steve brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to improve on the foundations built over the last decade,” said Hind. “Steve has held Chief Executive positions in a number of businesses, managing companies with over 100 staff and $100 million in revenue.”

Hind said the companies would we will reach out in due course contact its industry colleagues to arrange an introduction to Saboune “and to find out how we can further help your business. It is disappointing that COVID-19 prevents us from visiting you in person at this time.”

“The Curtain Hardware Company and Trax West will continue to operate as normal. All staff have been retained by Curtain Hardware Australia and we will continue to operate out of the same premises.”
