On Thursday 5 December, Somfy Oceania honoured and farewelled retiring Managing Director, Stephen Eggleton, hosting a truly special event to celebrate his 12 years of dedication and leadership.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Barangaroo House, over 100 invited guests came together to enjoy the party atmosphere. In attendance were Somfy staff – past and present – as well as customers, suppliers and members of the industry, many of whom travelled from across Australia.
As the sun set over Darling Harbour, guests exchanged their stories and memories of the last 12 years, all whilst enjoying the amazing venue’s hospitality, drinks and a spectacular menu crafted by the talented Matt Moran.
The night was a true reflection of Stephen’s legacy, filled with laughter, fond memories, and heartfelt tributes. Ravi Rajagopalan, Somfy Asia Pacific Business Area Director, shared thoughtful and inspiring words on the evening. “It was our absolute pleasure to come and celebrate 12 fantastic years of Stephen’s achievements” said Ravi on the evening.
On his departure, Stephen Eggleton reflected on the Somfy team and the company’s amazing customers, expressing gratitude for his time in a fantastic industry full of opportunity.
“Thank you to all our guests and the many customers who travelled from across Australia to join us for this milestone occasion. Our customers, guests and the Somfy team, made this a truly memorable event and a fitting way to farewell Stephen,” said Somfy Marketing Manager Kim Henretty.
Stephen will remain active in the industry serving on the Window Shading Association of Australia as a director, and vice-chair, through to October 2026.
From January, Somfy Oceania welcomes it’s new BU Manager, Henri Laniece, a trusted senior executive across Somfy Asia Pacific. Henri will be based in Sydney and brings with him deep experience in the region across Somfy Group’s portfolio of brands and channels.
