Silent Gliss by Peter Meyer
Simon Meyer, Silent Gliss by Peter Meyer Managing Director confirms the latest evolution of Silent Gliss’ Colorama range as a key recent development.
“Woven from the renowned Trevira CS fibre, the Colorama series continues to set industry standards for flame retardancy, durability, and refined translucency.
“The most recent phase introduced several enhanced variants—Colorama Multicolour, Colorama Acoustic, Colorama Eco, Colorama Dim-Out, Colorama Bioactive, and Colorama Alu – each engineered for specialised applications. The Multicolour option brings depth and subtle tonal texture through multi-tonal weaving. Acoustic features a structured weave that absorbs sound, improving comfort in open-plan and hospitality spaces.

“Eco provides a 100 per cent recycled polyester composition, answering sustainability targets without sacrificing performance. Dim-Out offers improved light management and a coordinated reverse face for a consistent finish, while Bioactive incorporates antimicrobial properties directly into the yarn. Finally, Alu integrates a reflective aluminium backing to reduce solar gain and improve energy efficiency.
“The expanded Colorama portfolio closes long-standing gaps in the Sheer Curtain fabric sector, where projects increasingly demand technical compliance alongside aesthetic versatility. Designers and specifiers can now source acoustically rated, energy-efficient, or sustainable sheers within a single cohesive range backed by Trevira CS certification.
Meyer notes that the Australian market continues to favour floor-to-ceiling Sheers paired with concealed Track systems for an architectural finish. Textural, linen-inspired surfaces remain popular, with neutral and mineral hues dominating current palettes. Demand for performance fabrics has also grown within commercial, hospitality, and multi-residential developments, where compliance and durability are essential.
“As post-pandemic lifestyles prioritise comfort and acoustic control, Silent Gliss Colorama offers trade professionals a specification-ready, design-driven solution, proving that true innovation in Curtains is as much about technical excellence as it is about timeless style.
