From new colours to customisation and flexibility, curtain hardware is entering a new chapter. WFA reports.

Andrew Robson, National Sales Manager at Rollease Acmeda, confirms that the Automate programme’s popular Versa Drapery Motor is now available in black; ideal to support the growing trends of elegant deep-toned aesthetics prevalent in modern residential and theatre rooms.

Norman’s curtain alternative, SmartDrape features heavy-duty premium aluminium hardware that will stand the test of time and comes in a range of colours to complement end users’ fabric choice.
“The SmartDrape hardware simplifies installation and enhances user experience. A standout feature is our dual-fabric option on a single headrail, allowing for both light filtering and room darkening fabrics without the need for separate hardware installations. This offers a streamlined, aesthetically pleasing solution for varying light control needs.”
According to Norman, this product fills a significant gap in the market for customers seeking a customisable, high quality window treatment solution that accommodates different lighting preferences without complex installations or multiple tracks. Somfy Zigbee Module entry enables total control
As part of the upcoming launch of Somfy Zigbee 3.0 technology-enabled motors, controls, and accessories is the new Glydea Ultra Zigbee Module, enabling functionality and controlwith the TaHoma switch and compatible with the new TaHoma Suite of pro tools from Somfy.
“As a wired Zigbee solution, the Glydea Ultra motor is more than just a premium and whisper-quiet curtain motor; it is also a mesh network repeater that extends the Zigbee radio range in a home ecosystem” said Nicki Beggs, Somfy Oceania Product Marketing Executive.
“The module enables manufacturers and installers error-free commissioning for confidence that every installation is done right the first time. For end users, the new Zigbee 3.0 technology enables control of their curtains via the TaHoma App and is compatible with Apple HomeKit” added Beggs.
The Glydea Ultra Zigbee Module will be available soon from Somfy and is part of a new comfort-driven ecosystem built for everyone. The Smart Shading offer includes a Zigbee solution to suit a range of different interior and exterior applications, with a smart design offering silence, elegance, comfort, and convenience.
Meanwhile, since its introduction last year, the Somfy Movelite 35 suite of wired and WireFree curtain products has grown in popularity, providing a comprehensive and accessible curtain motorisation solution boasting Somfys essential features and reputable quality.
“Somfy is driving comfort for all with accessible life-enhancing technology with the Movelite 35 range. Combining elegant French design with cutting-edge engineering, these motors operate quietly, blend seamlessly into any interior, and are easy to sell and install,” said Beggs

The Movelite 35 RTS and Movelite 35 WireFree RTS motors are also compatible with Connexoon Window RTS for app control and smart speakers (Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa) for voice control.

The Movelite 35 range features three motors: Movelite 35 RTS in Wired and WireFree and Movelite 35 WT (with the option to convert to a DCT motor), meaning there is an accessible solution to suit all curtain projects. To ease fabrication, the motors are compatible with Glydea Ultra track and accessories and suitable for all types of curtains including pinch pleat and ripple fold.
Silent Gliss
Silent Gliss by Peter Meyer’s 7605 Metroflat, the 7610 Metropole, and the 6243 recessed curtain track systems have received a tremendous response in 2024 from architects, designers, and dealers, according to Simon Meyer, Managing Director of Silent Gliss by Peter Meyer.
