CONTINUITY PARAMOUNT AS ROMAN EMPIRE DRAWS TO A CLOSE

ISSUE 68 SEPTEMBER 2019

After 30 years of trading, Melbourne firm Roman Empire is amalgamating with fellow business Paramount Blinds, ensuring continuity of staff, product and service.

The move comes with Roman Empire’s Don and Susi Hailes’ decision to open a new chapter. “Three decades have flown by so fast, but we feel now is the time to step back from the business and enjoy the fruits of our labours,” said Roman Empire Managing Director Don Hailes.

“We are happy to announce that in recent weeks, we have negotiated with a ‘like for like company’ to continue carrying the Roman Empire torch. Paramount Blinds in Bayswater has purchased the majority of Roman Empire’s equipment and offered many of our staff a position within the company, continuing the same roles they have held at The Roman Empire for many years. This means that the quality our customers have been used to will continue under the guidance of Paramount Blinds’ Brent and Corissa Gentner.”

“Susi and I have known Brent and Corissa for many years and we could not think of a better team to take over where we have left off. Both Brent and Corissa have been involved in the industry for many years and their experience will make the transition from Roman Empire to Paramount Blinds as seamless as possible. Even the phone number will be the same. Brent and Corissa will be in touch with customers over the coming weeks in relation to price lists and sampling.”

Brent Gentner told WFA his intention was to bring Roman Empire’s staff and systems under the Paramount umbrella, while The Roman Empire would maintain a brand presence within the business.

Don Hailes added that he and Susi wanted to “express our heartfelt gratitude to all customers both past and present that have been a part of this incredible journey. Your emails of well wishes and kind words have left us feeling very humble. We can’t thank you enough for your support. We’ll never forget all the customers and industry colleagues we have got to know over the last 30 years. We look forward to catching up with you some time.”
