STUNNING OUTLOOK

Coulisse looks back on 2023, a year of innovation and growth that has positioned the business to continue creating its future legacy in a spirit of optimism. WFA reports.

As a global window covering specialist since 1992, Coulisse has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation. Its unique design approach, innovative collections, advanced systems, and smart technology have elevated it within the sector, and taken the industry on its journey.

Last year, Coulisse proudly opened a new Sydney office and experience centre, tailored for the Australasia market, spanning residential, hospitality, and commercial applications. Meanwhile, the visionary Coulisse Campus project in the Netherlands is progressing; a cutting-edge 15,000-square-metre distribution centre designed with inspiration from corporate giants like Google and Apple. Set amidst seven acres of serene park-like surroundings, this campus will house the Coulisse headquarters, distribution centre, and development department in architecturally stunning brick-built stone structures. Coulisse’s journey of innovation and expansion continues to thrive.

New innovations
CTO Maurice Roetgering tells WFA that in 2023, Coulisse remained dedicated to providing a total solution encompassing functional fabrics, advanced systems, and Motionblinds smart technology, with a mission to enhance end-users’ lives through perfect window coverings that blend beauty, well-being, safety, and energy efficiency.

“This year, Coulisse introduced a revolutionary smart curtain concept with an innovative curtain track and two intelligent motors; a hard-wired motor and a USB-C rechargeable battery motor, offering unmatched convenience and compatibility with smart home systems. Notably, Motionblinds advanced further still by becoming Matter Ready, aligning with the growing adoption of smart technology in households, prioritising user-friendliness and connectivity.”

Global presence
Coulisse left its mark on the world stage in 2023, actively participating in prestigious events and exhibitions worldwide. From presentations at the Sun Shading Expo in Orlando in November to a cutting-edge showcase at CEDIA in Denver in September, Coulisse’s commitment to innovation shone brightly. The international stage was further graced by Coulisse’s presence at R+T Asia in Shanghai in July and Super Expo on the Gold Coast in June.

Going all out for the seventh time
Roetgering confirms that Coulisse is thrilled to unveil its grandest showcase at R+T from 19 to 23 February 2024. As the global leader in window coverings, the company is pulling out all the stops for what is described as its “most extraordinary presentation yet”. Returning to the stage after the successful debut of Motionblinds at R+T Stuttgart in 2018, the company is back again with its innovative smart technology brand. Located at Booth EO300, right by the entrance, the Motionblinds booth promises an unapparelled experience with 1,100 square metres of eye-catching design, complete with an immersive room, in-house restaurant, and exclusive product launches.

Motionblinds in the limelight
In a time of ever-advancing smart homes, Motionblinds smart technology stands at the forefront of window coverings. These pioneering smart motors made their market debut in 2018. Now, with the release of a complete series of Matter-over-Thread motors being developed by Coulisse in collaboration with Munich-based smart home specialist Eve Systems, Motionblinds will be ready to revolutionise the landscape of smart homes. These motors seamlessly integrate with all major platforms including Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple Home and Samsung SmartThings, making them the ultimate addition to any smart home.
