SCOTT FREE YOUR INDUSTRY PARTNER

ISSUE 68 SEPTEMBER 2019

With new expanded operations and a raft of industry-specific products, solutions and services, Scott Free is marking an important milestone in its growth as a company.

Topping nine years of continued expansion and growth, Scott Free sees its near-decade anniversary as a cause for celebration both for the company and its customers, says founder Andrew Scott.

“Scott Free has reached this milestone in our operations because of our commitment to genuine service. We are an industry partner focused on our customers,” he says, adding that the company’s growth in the market has been widely received and welcomed, both in its home state of Queensland, and through a new distribution centre in New South Wales.

“In Queensland, our head office, we find ourselves moving to larger warehouse space and offices very shortly, allowing us to hold not only new offerings, but increasing our capacity on existing fabrics and components to ensure we have what our clients need.”

“As the dust starts to settle from the success of the Super Expo 2019, our new clients are seeing the benefits of Scott Free’s commitment to their success: great service, stock on call, with products that are filling their business requirements each and every day.”

And Scott Free is continuing to broaden window furnishing products through new categories, such as curtain systems, external systems and components, he says.

“Our success flows on to our customers. Scott Free’s commitment to fast and efficient service makes it possible for our customers to respond to their customers more quickly. In short, this is our commitment to our customers each day; we help support their businesses with consistent supply of quality fabrics and components. We are their industry partner.”

WAVE CURTAIN SYSTEMS
The Super Expo 2019 saw the official release of Scott Free’s new Wave Curtain System, offering number of points of difference over other similar offers on the market. “A pocket tape with predetermined interval markings means there is no need to measure or count the pockets for the correct spacing. There’s also a unique master carrier that allows for the perfect butt union where two panels meet, and also where required the perfect return at the end of the track. As the demand for this simple and stylish system grows, more colours have been added to further broaden its appeal.”

“Another feature of our new curtain offering is the new relationship with established Australian curtain system supplier, Curtrax. Scott Free distributes these well-known systems that include the Series 2600 + 2500, along with the Tube Slider 28 and Ozzie Glide systems. Motorised tracks are also available with Alpha motorisation being the key feature. These tracks will integrate with all Alpha motorisation through the NEO hub, so curtains, roller blinds and external awnings can operate using one simple system that we keep in stock for customers.”

ECLIPSE AWNING SYSTEMS + COMPONENTS
Andrew Portolesi heads up Scott Free’s NSW operation, where external components and systems are distributed through the company’s warehouse in Minchinbury (NSW). “A full suite of components is available, from section for tubes, side channels and bottom rails, to the more traditional roll formed steel tubes and hooding. Quality Italian BAT gearboxes and BAT folding arm awning kits are the feature of our external systems, known for their durability and smooth operation. Splines, pivot pins, crank handles, you name it, we have the product to suit your needs and situation.”

“These components are at the centre of what Scott Free offers its customers; great products and great consistent supply. Motorisation is also covered with Alpha. Multiple options, across solar and AC with various sensors and remotes, complete our external systems. All Scott Free products are available through our Sydney warehouse.”

BESPOKE SOURCING SERVICE
“The Wave and Eclipse systems are the new offerings we have at Scott Free but what we don’t advertise is our bespoke sourcing service,” Scott confirms. “Sourcing a widget or whatever may make manufacturing and production easier and faster; and it’s something we’ve always done from the outset. Linked carriers in sets of six with a specific size link? No problem. Child Safety kits prepacked with warning tag and loop, child safety device, screw, ball stoppers in a yellow bag so it doesn’t get lost in packaging? Also, no problem. Over the years we have helped customers find the solution for many issues and continue to do so, even down to the shipping and clearance so there is no need to worry about customs, currency exchange or dealing with shipping lines. We can go from the idea, to having the finished product delivered to your door. Our bespoke sourcing service is there to help you, with as much or as little as the client needs to get their idea to materialise. It is a fantastic service that we offer.”

SOVEREIGN ROLLER SYSTEMS
The Sovereign roller system has been a stalwart since Scott Free’s establishment. It’s a proven reliable multi-faceted system that works. Essential everyday chain drives in 38 and 45mm across four colours are supported by a full range of brackets and components to cover most situations. Junior geared chain drives are the next step, with a gear drive end for maximum lifting capacity and smooth operation, using the same bracketing options as the Essential to help minimise stock holdings.

MAJESTIC VERTICAL SYSTEMS
“Another system that has been evolving since day one at Scott Free, this versatile solution is available in both standard and low profile, plastic or metal spacers, cord or wand driven, metal or plastic spacers. Multiple colour options across all components mean we will have the solution for you in this durable proven system that has been and continues to work for many manufacturers and retailers.”

FREEGLIDE + CENTURIAN SYSTEMS
“The Freeglide Panel System is a simple yet effective panel option which uses minimal parts and offers a wand drive that meets all child safety requirements. The Centurian Roman System is chain driven but also offers the option of a soft fall blind. Unique battens and inserts will make the system a highlight. Across both the Freeglide and Centurian, our velour tape will help reduce puckering at the top of the fabric panel.”

FABRICS
“Our relationships with some of the country’s best suppliers of fabrics continue, and we will always seek out products and partners to help supply our clients with what they seek,” says Scott. “The Super Expo 2019 saw the release of seven new fabrics ranges and the reinvigoration of the Balmoral range. Gala is the new splash of colour in the market and the new options across the Dulux fabrics have certainly given extra depth and options to the market.”

WHAT’S COMING UP?
“What’s next? Well we have a few irons in the fire at the moment, working on new products and new relationships to bring exciting new products to our customers, to support them further, so watch this space! One area that will only grow is our continuing commitment to becoming a trusted industry partner for window furnishings businesses.”
