Seamless integration and smooth installation with SunBoss roller blind hardware

Grant Norton, founder of Blindware and a veteran of the window furnishings industry, recently embarked on a personal project that allowed him to experience firsthand the excellence of Blindware’s products. Norton, who departed the now Hunter Douglas owned company at the end of 2022, says he has probably experienced one of his most poignant moments with the Blindware products, in particular the SunBoss roller blind hardware system.

Building his own house at Seaside Estate in Adelaide, Norton seized the opportunity to showcase the superior functionality and aesthetic appeal of Blindware’s SunBoss roller blind hardware system.

With an intention to fill his new home with Blindware’s window covering products, Norton carefully selected various blinds, including SunBoss chain-operated single roller blinds, SunBoss chain-operated double roller blinds, and SunBoss blackout cassettes. The blinds were custom-fabricated by National Blind Suppliers of Melbourne and transported without any complications to the house in Adelaide.

Norton, taking on the role of both builder and installer, approached the installation process with a mix of anticipation and determination. Despite some initial concerns about handling the larger double fascia blinds, he found that the installation of the SunBoss roller blinds was remarkably straightforward.

The process began with the installation of the Decora fascia blinds, which proved to be a cinch for Norton. The Decora fascia profiles, designed for easy fabric wrapping, provided a seamless connection between the blinds and the rooms, enhancing the overall appearance of the roller blind head roll. Norton noted that softer fabrics, such as screens, worked best for achieving a smooth and elegant finish.

Next, he tackled the installation of the SunBoss blackout cassette in the home theatre room. With simple steps and easy-to-follow instructions, the installation went smoothly, and Norton was pleased with the results.

The real challenge came with the installation of the double fascia blinds, some of which were over two metres wide. Norton successfully installed two sets of blinds as a combination of inside and outside mounts, and five sets using the newly released BR-BR bracket. The BR-BR configuration proved invaluable in keeping the blinds close to the glass and away from the front lip of the fascia profile, resulting in a neat and polished appearance.

Reflecting on the installation process, Norton shared his insights: “Without a doubt, any installer without proper training or experience with these products would face significant challenges. Knowing the best methods for assembling the double fascia profiles is crucial for success. However, with the right knowledge and training, the installation can be easily undertaken by an installer with minimal past experience.”

The end result of the SunBoss roller blind hardware installation was a house exuding a beautiful interior décor seamlessly connected to the window treatments. Norton expressed excitement for the future, stating that he looks forward to spending quality time in the house as he transitions into retirement. The presence of Blindware’s SunBoss roller blind systems throughout the house serves as a testament to Norton’s years of dedication to developing innovative products within the industry.

The successful installation of the SunBoss roller blind hardware system in Norton’s house showcases the ease of installation and the exceptional aesthetic appeal that Blindware’s products offer. With its range of functional and stylish window covering solutions, Blindware continues to deliver excellence, ensuring seamless integration and customer satisfaction.

“We now look forward to living with these blinds at some point in the future. We are not planning to move away from Melbourne, but we are definitely planning to spend some quality time at this new house as we transition to retirement. The fact that the house is fully fitted with SunBoss roller blind systems will be an ongoing reminder of my many years setting up Blindware and developing innovative products like the SunBoss fascia systems,” Norton said.
