The third annual ‘Pre-Season Pump Up’ by Fashionline saw top performing sales reps and business owners take part in a one-day refresher event in Sydney.
Fashionline is comprised of approved manufacturing/ retail members within the blind industry, encompassing 30 businesses around Australia and New Zealand. Members meet three times a year in a non-competitive environment to discuss and share technical knowledge, marketing ideas, and business development. The ‘Pre-Season Pump Up’ is an additional one-day sales training added to the yearly agenda, designed to enable business owners and their teams to prepare for the increase in leads in the busy summer months.
The Pre-Season Pump Up aligns with one of the core values of the Fashionline Group; education.
“We are always sharing new manufacturing techniques and product knowledge at our meetings. Education also involves developing our own personal and business skills,” said Adrian Moscheni , Chairman of the Fashionline Group. “As with all fields, the window furnishing industry and buyer market is constantly evolving.”
Over 60 sales professionals from around Australia were in attendance on 9 August at Rydges Sydney International Airport Hotel. The program focused on refreshing and improving their techniques for the upcoming summer season.
Around 80 per cent of the professionals in the room had at least 10 years’ experience in the blind industry. Chris Reynolds, Director of Undercover Blinds in Victoria, flew up for the day with some of his team. “To be the market leader in our region we have to keep adapting and learning,” he said. “That’s why events like this from Fashionline are so important.”
In addition to listening to business growth trainer, David Staughton, attendees broke up into think-tank and roleplaying sessions.
“One of the role-playing sessions saw members stand opposite each other while one had to complain how expensive a product was. The other had to work on a response and overcome this traditional objection. Apart from a lot of laughs it was a great learning environment,” Fashionline Group Chair Adrian Moscheni commented.
