Luxsol launches Altura100 aluminium plantation shutter system

Issue 109 July 2026

Plantation shutters deliver a clean sightline and precise light control that few other window treatments match. The work behind that result, however, sits with the home decor consultant: getting the specification right, choosing the correct material, and selecting a frame suited to the reveal. Altura100 is built to service that reality. Made from marine-grade aluminium with the widest panels in Luxsol’s range, it offers a third material option alongside PVC and timber: strong, long-lasting, and suited to contemporary openings.

Altura100 is Luxsol’s newest plantation shutter system. It can be configured to suit almost any opening, from a standard window to a wide multi-panel room divider.

The Profile

At the core of every Altura100 panel is an 89mm louvre paired with a flat stile. The proportion keeps the system substantial without reading as heavy, with enough blade width for proper light control while remaining refined in the frame.

Rails come in various sizes for the top and bottom of each panel to maintain proportion without trimming, plus a dedicated mid-rail for taller panels requiring a horizontal break.

Finished However You Like

Altura100 ships in four standard powder-coat finishes, covering most briefs without further deliberation. A custom powder-coat range is also available for projects requiring an exact match. The one thing it won’t do is metallic, a deliberate choice to keep the finish consistent and durable.

Four Ways To Mount It

The same blade and stile system adapts across four distinct installation methods, each suited to a different type of opening.

Hinged. Available with a surrounding L or Z frame, or completely frameless for a minimal sightline. Panels fold open in configurations from a single shutter to multi-panel layouts, with optional D-mould designed into the extrusion.

Fixed in channel. For openings that do not need to operate: feature windows, sidelights, decorative fixed lights. Panels sit in a U-channel rather than swinging open, with several channel and angle finishing options.

Sliding. Built for wide openings where a hinged panel would occupy too much wall. Available in one or two tracks, with reveal, semi-reveal, or face mount, and a headboard system in various depths to suit different reveal dimensions.

Multi-fold. For genuinely large openings such as servery hatches or room dividers. Panels bi-fold in pairs and stack to one or both sides. Maximum capacity is four panels folding in any one direction, always in even-numbered pairs, so every panel stays properly secured.

The Small Things That Add Up

Much of what makes a shutter system straightforward to install, or not, comes down to details that seldom appear in a product brochure. Altura100 addresses several of them directly.

Frame buildout for outside-mounted L frames ensures an 89mm blade can rotate fully without obstruction.

Hinge colours are available in white, stainless steel, and black, keeping hardware consistent with the chosen finish.

Blade stays, where required, allow blades to be positioned so they do not open or close independently.

Built For The Trade, Not Just The Showroom

Altura100 is a system designed to be specified with confidence by distributors. Wider panels simplify configuration, and the system is supported by a detailed product manual.
