MYT Shutters will mark its 20th anniversary at SuperExpo 2026, celebrating two decades of growth in the Australian market. As part of the milestone, the Sydney-founded manufacturer is launching a retailer competition to recognise the strong partnerships and shared success built with its trade network over the past twenty years.
When Mei Dong founded MYT Shutters in Sydney in 2006, the goal was simple: to create shutters that looked beautiful, performed reliably and suited the realities of Australian homes. Starting from a small workshop, the business was shaped by practical challenges like coastal conditions, harsh sun exposure and the day-to-day needs of installers. Twenty years on, the company has grown from that Sydney workshop to an internationally present manufacturer with a wholesale network spanning Australia, Europe and Asia.
MYT is marking the milestone at SuperExpo 2026, joining the exhibitors’ floor as part of its 20-year celebrations. To commemorate the occasion, the company is also running a retailer competition across its trade partner network, recognising the retailers who have contributed to the brand’s growth and success over the past two decades.
Dong, who has led the company as founder and CEO since 2006, reflected on the anniversary with gratitude for the people who have supported MYT throughout its journey. “Even after two decades, it still feels like we are just beginning,” she told WFA. “Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful for the trust and support of our retailers, partners, employees and customers who have grown alongside us over the years. When your goal is to create the perfect shutter, the work is never truly finished; there is always a way to refine a detail or improve a process. I’m incredibly proud that we have maintained consistent, world-class quality in an industry that relies so heavily on the human touch.”
As a female founder in manufacturing, Dong has built MYT around the belief that strong partnerships are central to long-term success. From the beginning, the company has focused on supporting its retail and trade partners through training, marketing support, responsive service and practical tools designed to make day-to-day business easier. Product development has also been shaped by feedback from installers using MYT shutters in the field, ensuring products continue to evolve around real-world needs.
That commitment continues to guide the next phase of the business, with MYT continuing to invest in systems and support that help streamline the customer experience. From its online ordering portal designed to improve efficiency and minimise ordering errors, to ongoing product guidance and marketing resources, the company remains focused on helping its partners grow confidently and sustainably.
“We have always believed that when our partners grow, we grow alongside them,” Dong said. “Supporting our customers with the right tools, service and knowledge has always been an important part of who we are.”
“We don’t see ourselves as just a supplier; we see ourselves as a long-term partner,” Dong said. “Over the past twenty years, a big part of our growth has come from growing alongside our customers. We’re always looking at ways to better support our partners through innovation, service, training and smarter systems that make doing business easier.”
“As we continue refining our products and manufacturing processes, we want to ensure our partners have reliable, high-quality solutions they can confidently offer their clients. The relationships we’ve built over the years are something we value deeply, and that will continue to shape the future of MYT.”
Sustainability and ongoing manufacturing improvements remain key priorities for the company as it continues investing in smarter systems, improved efficiencies and more environmentally conscious production practices.
For retailers, MYT’s continued focus on service, product quality and partner support reflects a long-term approach to trade relationships, one built not simply on supply, but on consistency, collaboration and shared growth.
