Somfy has partnered with Australian charity Supertee, empowering Australia’s bravest kids as they embark on the toughest fight of their life.
As part of Somfy’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and giving back to the community through volunteering efforts, the Somfy team spent a day packing close to 200 care packs for seriously ill children in hospitals across Australia.
The care packs each included a ‘Supertee’, a medical garment designed especially for children. The patented clothing, featuring a superhero design, provides parents and hospital staff with an easier way to change garments while accessing and bypassing medical lines.

The initiative holds special meaning to the Somfy family, being founded by Jason Sotiris, husband of Somfy Oceania’s Supply Chain Manager, Vanessa. Jason and Vanessa’s daughter, Angela, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer aged just one. While in the hospital, Jason came up with his vision of creating a garment that could be changed easily whether the patient was awake or asleep.
Today, Supertee has supported over 100 hospitals and made over 21,000 superheroes!
“We truly value having the opportunity to be able to assist the community we live and work in, whilst offering our team a rewarding work environment”, said Mary Ladu, Marketing Manager for Somfy Oceania.
“Our partnership with Supertee holds a special place in our heart and allows us to give the Somfy team a fulfilling experience by getting hands-on and shaping the experience of the sickest kids in hospitals and respite centres.”
