A new venture with worldclass backing is entering the Australian window coverings market.
Norman Australia, referred to as ‘Norman’, is a new entity established as the Australian subsidiary of Taiwan based company Nien Made Enterprise Co Ltd (Nien Made), which is positioned as a leader in the manufacture of high-quality shutters, blinds and shades.
Founded by Norman Nien in 1974, the company has grown from a small specialised window blinds maker, to a world class manufacturer.
Norman Director Matthew English confirmed the company’s point of difference, and a key driver of its expansion, lay in its vision of “offering exceptional value to customers.”
“With approximately 11,000 employees and ultra-modern manufacturing facilities in China and Cambodia combined with an international marketing strategy, the company provides its global customers with a wide selection of beautiful and functional window covering solutions”.
“Norman works closely with our retail supply chain partners, to provide customised and scalable supply solutions in respect to program and product design, quality, range, sampling, packaging, delivery and price.”
The company’s aim is to expand the market in Australia through collaboration, English confirmed. “By working with reputable retail enterprises in the supply chain, the objective is to create a co-operative win-win approach to delivering exceptional value to Australian window covering end-users.”
“Norman’s value proposition lies in its remote manufacturing strategy; automated and accurate order processing, direct supply chains, quick delivery, competitive value and quality product. The company has a strong focus on quality control while also ensuring products are environmentally friendly.”
A key opportunity identified by the company in the Australian market was the reduction in energy consumption achievable through utilising its shutters, blinds and shades, English said.
“Australia is known for having two seasons – very hot summers and cold winters. Our blinds, shutters and shades not only keep the cool air in, in summer but the house warm in winter, while doing so at an affordable price point.”
Honeycomb blinds and digital controls for shutters are two key new product lines being released to the Australian market by the company.
Demand-led innovation is a core value for the company; in 2017, Nein Made released a total of 20 new patents within the year; and innovation extends beyond the products themselves.
“Norman’s goal is to become one of Australia’s leading window covering wholesale suppliers, providing fabricators and retailers with a trusted and reliable source for quality, innovative and world competitive window covering programs.”
“Innovation in respect to product development, supply chain management and marketing activities will play a key role in achieving this ambition,” English said. “Nien Made is constantly developing product, packaging, logistic and merchandising concepts that will help to realise our vision.”
