BBPM’s industry stalwart steps down from WSAA board

Issue 99 November 2024

Peter Meyer of Blinds by Peter Meyer (BBPM) has announced his resignation from the board of the Window Shading Association of Australia (WSAA) formerly the Blind Manufacturers’ Association of Australia (BMAA).

In a letter shared with WFA, Meyer confirmed: “It is with deep sorrow that I announce my resignation from the board of Window Shading Association of Australia.

“This is a position that I have filled for over 10 years. I derived great satisfaction from and it was a very personally rewarding position.”

Meyer said he felt he had “achieved a lot during my tenure and most recently saw the BMAA become The Window Shading Association of Australia.”

He resigned due to the association’s Strategic Plan’s stipulation that five years should be the tenure for directors. He said: “The time had come for me to resign.”

“I enjoyed the companionship of my fellow directors and I love our industry and have formed many ongoing friendships,” he said.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must stand down and I thank the board and association members for 10 fabulous years, during which I was honoured to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and also passed the Blinds by Peter Meyer business to my two very talented sons to carry on.”

“I look forward to seeing you all in the future.”
