Glidescreen Pivot Guide wins AGDA

Issue 98 September 2024

The Glidescreen Pivot Guide has been recognised at the 2024 Australian Good Design Award Ceremony held at the ICC Sydney on Friday September 20th.

The Australian Good Design Awards showcase the very best in design and innovation to a worldwide audience. Every year, the Awards attract cutting-edge design projects from across the globe, celebrating the very best in design, architecture, engineering, research, fashion, and social impact.

Entries cover a vast range of sectors and industries, showcasing everything from the design of everyday products, to buildings, and the systems and processes that support business and communities.

Designer and inventor of the Glidescreen Pivot Glide, Tony Hopkins, said he was incredibly proud to see his innovative product recognized both here in Australia and across the globe with the 2024 Australian Good Design Award.

“The Pivot Glide began as a vision to motorise and modernise the traditional auto awning, a product many said couldn’t be improved,” Hopkins said.

“We knew there was a way to bring this classic design into the 21st century with a motorised version that would change how we think about shading and energy efficiency. The Pivot Glide allows homeowners to effortlessly control shading and airflow, reducing their reliance on air conditioning.”

“Our product isn’t just about convenience, it’s about building a more sustainable future for everyone through increased shade efficiency.”

“Winning the 2024 Australian Good Design Award affirms that we were on the right track, and Pivot Glide is rapidly becoming a staple in homes across Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, making life easier, more comfortable, and more energy-efficient.”

The Glidescreen Pivot Guide is distributed exclusively by Scott Free.
