Carr Group is encouraging customers looking to modernise the look of a room to consider eyelet curtains.
Jackie Hjorth from Carr Group commented: “In this industry we all know the rhythm of the seasons and how demand changes throughout the year”.
“This is especially true for curtains and the hanging system adopted. It is right now that we all look to freshening up the décor around home and curtains can be a very simple way to revitalise a room.”
“Changing away from traditional pencil pleating to colour coordinated eyelet curtains can have a dramatic impact on a room.”
Carr has been offering curtain eyelet solutions to the market for over twenty years. With a base in both Sydney and Auckland there is access to a full range of machines for setting curtain eyelets.
“Because of the size of a standard 40mm diameter curtain eyelet it is extremely difficult to set them by hand,” Hjorth told WFA.
“The common problem with hand setting using a hand-held punch and die set is that if the hand setting positioning is not perfectly perpendicular to the eyelet, parts of the surface of the eyelet can be flattened.”
“Then, when you’re lounging back at the end of a hard day, your eye only sees the flattened eyelet rather than the beautiful new décor.”
“Machine setting solves that and ensures great settings.”
Hjorth says that Carr offers a simple entry level machine for small runs through to automated versions.
“The most popular and a consistent best seller in both good and slow times is the Carr MP25, a pneumatic machine. It runs on compressed air so there’s no need for electricity just a small compressor.”
“All Carr curtain eyelets are European made and are tried-and-tested over 20 years in our market. Some applications demand the largest size, 66mm diameter, while there is a steady demand for the 25mm variant.”
“Far and away the most requested are 40mm diameter and we have a stock range of 14 colours with the made-to-order option available if thinking in advance and with reasonable minimum order quantities.”
