OPAK curtain track extends options for installers and end users

Issue 97 July 2024

OPAK extendable curtain track is attracting strong demand due to its ease of installation, flexibility and aesthetics.

OPAK extendable curtain track has been purpose built by industry experts to simplify the track ordering, logistics and installation process without losing out on the quality, stability or style users expect with a custom made track.

Anthony Jimenez, Sales & Product Manager at MAC Shade Solutions, outlines the features and benefits of using OPAK.

“Retailers are able to keep stock ready for immediate installation, bypassing manufacturer lead times, meaning a track could be installed on the first visit to site before ordering the curtain.”

“Simply select between the two sizes available 1150-2200mm and 2350-4600mm and install.”

“The tracks can also be butted against each other for larger widths or cut down for smaller.”

Jimenez notes that curtain tracks are often awkward sizes, meaning transport and obstacles like lifts can be a challenge and time consuming,

“OPAK tracks easily fit into lifts and most cars. Each track is supplied with the maximum number of runners, which ensures accurate installation without mistakes in runner count, excess runners are easily removed from the track through a patent protected endcap.”

“We’ve also removed the hassle of finding and sorting box labels of custom ordered tracks. With OPAK you now only need to ensure you have the right size and colour and quantity of tracks.”

“To maintain the clean aesthetic of a custom made track, we have designed a fascia that gives a smooth and clean aesthetic in either white or black. The flexible fascia covers give the track a seamless appearance resembling solid aluminum rather than a traditional extendable track.”

Jimezez says the inspiration for OPAK came from experiencing installation and logistical issues and wanting to remove as many challenges as possible.

“Most of the features incorporated into the track were specifically developed because of challenges the inventors have experienced first-hand after many years in the industry.”

“OPAK stands out from other tracks on the market because it removes so many common pain points.”

“Custom made tracks can be difficult logistically at larger sizes and extendable curtain tracks aren’t typically a sleek or sturdy design and often have issues with the carriers getting caught when a curtain is being pulled across it, OPAK does not have these issues.”

According to Jimenez, OPAK enhances the functionality and versatility of window treatments with its sleek and decorative design.

“It is able to be a technical product whilst also being aesthetically appealing. The versatility of OPAK primarily comes from being extendable. Being extendable means the track is dynamic and can be used in most situations.”

“MAC Shading Solutions’ feedback from installers is that the concept of OPAK is fantastic in commercial settings, as they do not need to sort through the custom made tracks to find the right one for each apartments and window, saving them a significant amount of time and getting them on the tools sooner.”

“The installation process itself is very streamlined and efficient, all you need to do is install brackets and the track rod, extend the track to the desired size, clip the curtain into place from the leading side, cut the string off of the first unused runner and pull it out through the end cap.”

“This straightforward process reduces installation time and effort, providing clear benefits to installers in terms of efficiency and ease of use. OPAK is also offered and has been tested in the DIY space and has had feedback that users would use OPAK again if given the option.” Jimenez adds.
